Default Heavy steering feel - 92 accord

My 92 accord recently developed a heavy steering feel (high effort). Also, if I make a turn, and let go of the wheel, there is almost no "snap back" of self centering of the wheel.

I did not notice anything unusual manually pushing the tires lock to lock with car jacked up.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I'd start with the power steering system. Check the fluid, the fuse for the pump, etc.

That is how the problem on my 91EX started, then got worse. Ended up changing the rack and pinnion.......

I've also been leaning towards a R&P. Now that I think about it, moving the tires manually was not "fluid motion", I felt a couple of "loose" and "tight" spots from lock to lock. Of course, I do not feel this at the wheel.

Did you change the R&P yourself?
