Anyone have a Trailer hitch On Their CRX?
Looking to maybe install a trailer hitch on my crx so i can attach a small maybe half length trailer for hauling things like a lawnmower tractor.
So I was looking and found one that seems way overpriced but I guess most of the cost is insurance the company has to carry for building hitches.
I mean $100 for a flatbar and plate and a angle iron ... but i guess the state inspection people will require a certified hitch not something i build.
CURT Class I Hitch - Fixed draw bar receiver style
its not a nice one either its just a ball type on a flat bar.
Anyone ever installed one I got a 1990 with a automatic.. I figure 500 pounds max.. just enough for the lawn tractor or maybe some plants or lumber home.. also thinking about picking up some work doing landscaping or snow removal maybe... probably should get a pickup for $600 with a hitch on it but idk.

i bought my friends trailer hitch he used to tow a tiny trailer, i think his CBR on top? i never used it yet, just thought itd be good to have in case...
it mounts to the frame under the tow hooks and then angles down and then a bar across, then the receiver is welded in the middle and braced. i checked for fitment with the stock exhaust and its ok. looks beefier than what you pictured.

i had a hidden hitch on my civic hatchback a few years ago, never took pictures though. it was damn low, bottomed out all the time with the hitch installed. only good for a small trailer or perhaps a Honda Boler.
I would look for ones that attach to more than the trunk pan and bumper support (which looks like that one pictured above).
As long as it attaches to something sturdy that isn't rusted out (like the "frame rails") and have a decent clutch I think you should be good.
I've hauled the equivalent of two motors (b18s) in the backs of several different civics, and integras and never had a problem minus some of the seams pulling apart a little in the trunk floor.
