Default Replacing oil pan on '88 CRX SI D16

Hello Honda-Tech, I have a few questions for you regarding replacing the oil pan on the D16 in my '88 CRX SI.

- I pulled off all the bolts but the pan still won't drop. What the hell do I do?

- Did you guys have to remove the downpipe from the exhaust manifold? I just left mine on 'cause one of the bolts was rounded.

- Will I be fine just using the a brand new rubber gasket for the new oil pan or do I have to use some sealant?

- In what order do I start screwing the bolts on once I get the new pan on?

Yes, you have to remove the downpipe.

Depending on the gasket you buy, some you use high grade silicone (Hondabond or Permatex Red) on the areas around the crank, or non at all (Like Felpro perma dry - those you do not use any silicone). Just make sure the mating surface is clean and do not overtighten the bolts. Recheck the bolts after a week.
