hi do u guys hear a metal scraping sound or air bursting out of pipe sound when u step on the throttle (and the sound would go away if i let go of throttle) at low rpms and at high gear like 4th and 5th? I probably have this sound since owning the car but i didnt realize untill recently cuz i always had the volume of music all the way up....is this normal if not then whats the problem? i think its just the air passing through the throttle body sound but i'm not sure....please help thanks alot

 

My R makes all sorts of funny noises. From the air intake whistling to the lsd whining its all good. Its prob just the intake, its normal. My icebox makes a whistling sound from low rpms through all gears.

My ITR make weird noises all the time. From the supercharger like whine of the ATS to the air ripping through the mugen header. Its all good though just part of the car. Now try this on a cold day turn the radio off and listen. It kinda scares you alittle

 

first week i had my ITR, i thought the damn thing was gonna fall apart...now i cherish the rattles, whines, whirs, whistles, bumps, scrapes, and screams.

 

Gotta quit running over 'dem little critters ....screams! LOL!

when my friend bent his valves..he had some wierd noises low rpm..but im not sure what kinda noise..ill ask him and try to match it with the noises ur hearing..

 

Do any of you guys get weird noises after you close the door. It's a funny noise that happens once in a while usually if the car sits for a while. Almost like a pump kind of sound.

 

My car's shocks make funny noises when it sits after a long drive. Kinda like pumping noise that last about 2 sec.... after several minutes it does it again.

 

The air sound is the air rushing into the intake manifold. All cars make it but you will hear it in the R at RPMs because of lack of sound suppression materials AND at low RPMs, the engine chatter is not loud enough to disguise it.
To illustrate, open you hood with your engine idling and suddenly pull the throttle flap lever. You’ll hear a PSHHH as a sudden pressure drop occurs across the intake line.
As for the metal scrapping noise, I’m not sure but it could be the cogs in the tranny. Again, at low RPMs, the engine chatter is just not loud enough to disguise it.
