Default XR650L/R supermoto?

Looking at selling my 71 CB500four and getting a XR650(street legal), and putting street tires on it- more motard style.

I hardly ride long trips anymore(had VFR800, SV650, 71 CB500), and the idea of a thumper to get me around town and maybe some short trail rides would be awesome.

Several friends have had DRZs, but I'm a Honda guy and only like to own Honda vehicles- hence converting a XR into a motard. I don't need aggressive suspension or brakes, just a stock bike with some street tires.

ANybody done this?

pics..

I like those a lot, I had an old *** XR600 a while back but I never rode it because it was way too tall for me .

back in 2005 or so.. I put on a Baja Design dual sport kit to made it street legal.

Not a good street ride for anything over 1/2 hour, large thumper tend to vibrate quite a bit, combine with little padding on the seat.. even though it was loads of fun..

How is the torque? Pretty solid, yeah?

I ended up picking up a DRZ....yeah yeah, couldn't pass up on it and it came with a ton of extras, so I'm stoked.

you def want the big brakes- if you have the drz then you got the 310

i suggest a steel braided line and definitely mrd/ssw

i have a drz and xr400r for dualsport/dirt and i loveeeee the honda. these things are fun as hell enjoy

check out thumpertalk.com if you haven't already

What kind of DRZ? The regular old 400 enduro or the supermoto?
