Default Ratta tat tat!!!!! O2 sensor noise

I have a apexi ws2 on my 99 coupe and I'm noticing that my o2 sensor rattles when I start off in both 1rst an 2nd. I know that it is my u2 sensor because it is touching the 2 poles coming from my shifter ( I don't know what they are called). I can feel the rattle in my shift ****. Any one have this problem before or any suggestions on how to stop it?

I would think your exhaust is hitting your shift linkage.. And if you know for sure your o2 sensor is rattling then its not tight and you need to tighten it.. And are you running stock motor mounts?

Yes stock everything in the motor. Just intake header and the exhaust. I check the sensor and it's not loose at all. It is just touching the linkage. A friend has told me that he notices my exhaust moves alittle more than normal when starting off. Is it possible the shop that put the exhaust on did not do it correctly?

If you REALLY want to fix it, have the o2 sensor removed and put a new o2 bung in on the exhaust where it won't touch the linkage. Or the cheap alternative is you can wrap the o2 sensor or the linkage with some of that heat wrap for headers and what not, or something else that won't melt. That way its not metal on metal and it'll make it less noticeable

^ That's a waste of money, the o2 sensor isn't in the exhaust stream then, it won't get an accurate reading.
