Altenator. go up to your local schucks/o'reillys or autozone or something of the sort and they can test your altenator but im pretty sure thats what it is. if it is holding charge when you charge it outside the car but when you put it back in it drains and wont recharge the only thing that i can think of is the altenator call before you go in they may need you to pull the altenator before bringing it in lemme know if i was right

take the car to autozone and have them test your alternator. obviously the alternator isn't charging the battery

the alt is charging when removed from the car (bench test) brushes are good too. when installed in the car it does not. I am getting a ELD code! I am getting power to the alt (checked with test light) but still no charging of the battery...

HAHAHA

If the fuse is good, make sure your grounds are good as well. Clean them good.

OK so no fuses blown, all grounds are clean and connected I think 3 or 4 not including the headlights. And yet still no 14.4 volts coming from the alternator. The single wire maybe 8gauge has power verified with test light on the alt.
where do the 4 wires on the plug go to (alt) I would like to ring them out to make sure no shorts?
Any ideas???

did you test the alt? if its not the battery, and not the terminals.... and not the battery cables (which do go bad)
it's more then likely the alternator. OP only said he has test battery and connections...no alt test.

They sell alt gauges....that will tell you immediately if your alt is good or bad. They are 4 bucks...go pick one up before you start trying to sort out wires.

maybe the cable from alternator to battery is bad. or not tighten properly. But i really think maybe u got the wrong alternator. Or maybe ur belt isnt tight enough. Just food for thought.

Check for the Alternator SP fuse. This fuse will usually blow and the number one way to figure that out is by checking you speed tach. It will stay at zero and never measure your speed. That should be the 7.5 fuse. Be sure to use the right measurement because if you use a larger one you can potentially allow a larger current to surge through and melt the wire.

Next, Try starting the car and then turn it off. Go back and check the Alt. SP fuse in the fuse box located under the steering column. If it's blown then you have a frustrating problem. Make sure to check your engine harness and be sure that there are no wires touching anything. Next, make sure all of your ground wires are grounded properly and that they're rust free and grounded the "right" way. Once you've checked those, try the same start up and fuse check process. If it's still blowing there's one last place to check.

Go under your vehicle and look for your o2 sensor. A lot of times if your car is at a lowered ride height and you hit a bump it will cause the o2 sensor to hit the tranny/block of your motor. Thus, creating a short, blowing your fuse, and creating your alt. to receive no power to charge your battery.

Hope this helps.
