Icon2 problems with my tach not working

just swapped in a new b20b engine and the tach was working fine until the other day my car shut off due to a lose battery cable..and now my tach doesnt work. but my entire cluster works besides the tach now. i have a p75 ecu in it with an obd2b to obd1 conversion harness. everything is good to go i just dont get why my tach is not working. anyone s help would be much appreciated as i do dont wanna spend money on a new cluster or conversion harness just yet.

Bad ICM, tach blue wire, or tach

Start by having the ICM tested

yes car starts...but honestly it chooses when to start. i was going down the road today driving it and it turned off for no reason. then i couldnt start it by turning the key i had to bump start it, like im gettin a short somewhere but i have no idea where. it will randomly turn off when its warmed up like the car doesnt like to idle very well, and when the cars cold it runs perfect and stays on so im at a loss trying to figure out what to do and what to buy to get my car running properly again

Starter has nothing to do with keeping the engine running, when the car doesnt wanna start does the fuel pump prime?

Install the correct 40A fuse even though it won't solve your problem.

yeah i did install the 40A and haha my problem is still there ima try and buy a new ignitor for my distributor, its wierd though when my car shut off that day i saw a little bit of smoke coming from behind my steering wheel by my ignition, and then me being dumb i tried to start my car after that and i was turning the key there was smoke again coming from the same spot..so im thinking my ignition might be done or the wiring to it is just worn out now... need more of your input on this problem RONJ@HT you have been super helpfull
