This a direct copy & paste from our FAQ.....(sorry, too lazy to type tonight, lol)

==========================

It's now possible to swap a newer "B" series engine in the 86-89 Accord using special engine mounts.

The B20A/B21A series from the 88-81 Prelude aren't build on the same platform and thus will NOT work.

If you want the JDM version of the DOHC Accord engine, check this thread

http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=86

These engine mounts are available at PlaceRacing Inc.

BIM07AG 86-89 Accord for "B" series engines $637.55

These are high quality mounts that will make sure the engine seats properly in the engine bay.
All the components are CNC machined at their facility, and feature actual cast in place
polyurethane mounts, NOT cheap pressed-in suspension bushings.

They include a LIFETIME waranty.

The stock A20A tranny will NOT bolt to the B-series engines. To make the swap easier you should
use a S1 or Y1 tranny(Available from the 4g CIVICS). These transmissions use a cable to engage
the clutch just like our stock transmission. This way, you won't have to mess with a hydraulic
clutch conversion.

Be aware that this conversion is somewhat simple. There are pre-built kits available but it will
raise the cost of the swap.

With the new transmission, you will need custom axles and a custom shift rod. PlaceRacing Inc. has
already made them. A new shift rod is also required. You can also buy it, or just do your own one.
It's quite simple.

AXLE07R 86-89 Accord Passenger Side Axle $178.50
AXLE07L 86-89 Accord Driver Side Axle $178.50
SHIFT07 86-89 Accord Shift Rod (core required) $153.70

The wiring harness can also be a problem. The B engines have a different wires. PlaceRacing has an
adapter that will allow LX-I owners to keep their current wire harness with the swap. DX and LX owners
will first need to convert their fuel system to EFI specs. Then, they can use a stand alone
computer for the engine, or use the entire harness from the B engine.

With this kit you will be able to do the swap with not too much trouble.

-------------------------------------------------
To make it short here's basicaly what you need.

B-series Engine (See table below)
Transmission (Y1 or S1)
Matching Wire Harness and ECU
Drive axles.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The B16 would give you more power of course pour you would have to rev it in the really high rpms all the time to see an improvement.

As you can see (chart at the end), this engine has only 111lbs of torque @ 7000 rpm. Comparing to the A20A3 that reaches it's 122 lb @ 3500, the B16X won't be much of an improvement unless you always rev it high.

The B17, B18 or B20 series are a better choice I think because they will provide both more torque an HP. (Again, see the chart)

You can also swap the VTEC head on any NON-VTEC B series engine. You can use any head, the choice is yours. The output power is hard to predict but you will notice a significant increase. The Non-Vtec engines usually use a longer stroke and will provide a nice low end torque.

The correct swap only depends on how much money you have and the engine availability.
