Vitara build question
i read about this build online some where its called a "vitara build" its for a d16z6, i read that you use vitara pistons ( for a civic, look um up on ebay) and eagle rods for the bottom end and it can handle like 20 lbs of boost. that's really all i know about it. I wanted to see anyone has done this build on this forum or any better ideas for a turbo d16z6 build

you can start by searching vitara build on google and gather ideas of what you need and start from there.. why bother wasting post having people reply when you can do the work for your self. look up brand name parts and things people have done that were known to work. dont reinvent the wheel if you dont need to.
75mm vitara 7.5 1 pistons with the crappy eagle rods or go with custom legnth I-beamst that raise compression

Iv done a d16z6 vitara build and Im pretty happy with it so far. Though I would suggest getting the custom length rods to keep the stock compression ratio unless you plan to run a lot of boost. I have the golden eagle rods and the compression ratio is something like 7.4:1.
other things you definitely should get:
-new connecting rods
-new main journal bearings
-new piston rings
-fresh hone on the block
-arp head bolts and rod bolts
-new head gasket and timing belt
-and obviously a whole turbo set up
also if you get the golden eagle rods you will have to grind down the bottom of the cylinder wall and part of the main cap

Here's one.

You have info to the contrary?
i dont understand why people do the vitara builds anymore the piston and eagle kit is just about the same as a wiseco/eagle kit.... vitara's yield very very low compression..as well as they're cheaply made and are known to have piston slap.
grumblemarc is correct a stock z6 head can make up to 300hp before starting to choke it out. one thing about hondas they do have good head flow compared to many other auto makers. also stock ignition is good for 300hp as well. a cam would help achieve the goal easier with less boost. if your going to run a big cam u should have your head ported to get the max output of the cam.
Goals please. Horsepower?

i paid 725 shipped for my wiseco/eagle combo. 10 psi on a gt28r is different then running 10psi on a gt30r. the gt30 flows more and will make more power. you could run 16psi on a greddy t25 turbo and make a little over 200hp on a stock block. psi is irrelevant you need to have the car TUNED to your power goal and not just turn the boost up to 16psi without a tune even a built block will fail if not tuned correctly. t3/t4 id imagine ur buying a cheap *** ebay turbo that wont last long. u may wanna research more and make sure u run a oil restrictor.
