Question about turbo kit (t28 turbo)
Might buy a kit off some guy locally, has a t28 turbo.
But I know for my sirII motor it will be too small. But he's selling it cheap so what i wanna know is when I eventually want to swap out the turbo for a bigger one
1. What other turbo options do i have for more power but to keep my existing manifold//downpipe? (if this question is even answerable....)
2. How do I know if X turbo will fit X downpipe and X manifold?
thanks

another question i would like to add
when i asked if the kit came with intercooler he said "no it doesnt need turbo is water cooled"
but as far as i know, a water cooled turbo just cools down the turbo, and not the air that goes into the engine....
so would i need an intercooler kit aswell?

Yes, you will need an intercooler for this turbo "kit". Sounds like an older Edlebrock or something. You will be able to swap out any internally gated GT-R series turbo (from the GT2860RS-GT3076R turbo) as long as it is internally gated.
yeah i figure for what i am getting (turbo, manifold, downpipe, injectors and fuel pump) @ 800$ its a good start. Will just get an intercooler kit from ebay
btw dont know how legit it is but he says "t25 turbo rebuilt t28 stage 2" (whatever the **** that means)
Dude if you are going to go turbo, why would you buy anything eBay? Save the cash up and buy quality stuff...itll pay off in the end.
As for the turbo being too small for your motor, thats kind of incorrect. Turbo size all depends on what you want out of the turbo IE when it spools/reaches full boost, how much it can flow and how much power over all you want to make. A T28 will spool faster than most and you should be able to make and hold a respectable amount of power. The turbo I am getting is the precision version of the GT28 and is rated to 340hp...just to give you an idea.
Just read up as much as you can about all of this before you just start buying ****. It'll help you save money rather than buying "deals" you don't need.

??
ive read so many times that ebay intercooler kits are just fine. just stay away from everything else. Onlything ebay i got off the sale was a no name ebay blow off, which will be swapped out for something else
anyways i got the kit, turns out its actually a air - > water intercooler set up (which i will replace with a fmic set up)
