Default Strange Coilover. Experiences/Comments

Hey guys, I've been looking into buying a new set of Coilovers for my 90 Civic. Its still months out but I've looked into the usual stuff like Progress, already riding on Koni/GC, AMR Engineering, PIC, etc. I've run across the Strange brand shocks and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them on a DD/Occasional track car. They are advertised as Drag suspension but again, I'm curious to see if anyone has use them for anything else.

While I love my Koni/GC setup, my shocks have seen years of abuse and no longer damper the way they used to. I'd also like to be able to adjust height without having to preload the spring.

I'm looking for something that will handle spring rates > 600 lb/in.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

This is it for all of H-T that I could find.

Hopefully there are newer experiences with them.

I have, but the reason I haven't is because of the height adjustment/pre-load issue. I don't like the car too low and having to compress the spring a bit makes the ride a bit bouncy. Maybe it's just me not doing it right.

Thanks for the input and links

Sounds like you need higher spring rates.

500F/650R at the moment. Plenty stiff.

I need shocks that are valved for higher rates and something that will give me height adjustability without messing with spring reload.

I was wondering why you didn't just stay with the AMR's but you wanted a higher stance than most. Maybe you should try to contact ANDY to see if he can build you a custom set with the rates you want? BTW I just seen your for sale thread and the OG momo's are killer. If I could use 13's they would have been sold a long time ago.

I've never had AMRs. Been on the koni/gc combo for about 4 years now. I probably will opt for the AMRs when the ol' pocket allows. Thanks for the input guys.

I've had those momo wheels just sitting for years. Came off a first gen crx. Can't use them either. Too small.
