black housing headlights for eg
i was looking at the black housing headlights on ebay for a eg. i was wondering if anyone here had any experience with them and how is the light output on them? i had black housing headlights for a DA but the light ouput was horrible and it seemed like most of the light was scattered to the sides and i was wondering if it was the same for the eg housings.
DONT BUY THOSE EBAY LIGHTS!!!
I had done the samething and bought some of those $90 one piece lights (Black housing/amber corners). The issue is the mounting tabs and adjustment screws.
Mounting tabs: They are not like the factory, they are thin plastic that has to be trimmed to fit. After about an hour of getting them to fit right and torquing them down to spec, i walked away for 2 mins to get a tool and when i came back the mounting tabs SHATTERED into about 40 pieces on both lights.
Adjustment screw: CHeap Cheap Cheap... They strip at the sight of a screwdriver!
ALso the Heat had made the housings crack all the way around and now get water, dirt, etc.. in them.
Now if you still want those lights anyways.. I have a Brand new in the box Never opened ill sell ya for $50. They guy gave me another pair after i complained instead of my money back. They are just sitting in my garage.
Hope this saves you in time!!!
Oh the light output to answer your question is pretty scattered aswell, just a poor quality light.

Horrible! I had them in my 98. Well, they are now laying on the ground in front of my car which now has OEM lights back in it.
My friend had them in his EG, they were pulled and tossed at the same time as mine.
I had the same issues as above.
I've broken the tabs. the adjustment sucks complete dick! (this is what pissed me off the most) I was totaly unable to adjust them in the car. I had to remove them and re install them and go test it.
They leaked, so I was just going to open them up real quick and scrape all the junk glue out and replace with good stuff. Seems simple right? Wrong. They melted! Never again did they even line up properly, not that they did before.....
The BEST thing to do if you want black hoshing lights, paint your stock ones. It's easy.
