05 HCH looking for more hp
I have a 2005 civic hybrid and Im looking to get better acceleration, mainly from rest and not while driving. I think car's rated at 40mpg and usually gets around 35 but while driving on deliveries I only get avg 24-27mpg, mostly from accelerating more than just cruising.
I was searching around internet, this forum, and honda parts guy and everyone seems to say to first try a cold air intake, get very small gain in horsepower and small added miles per gallon. So I'm trying to find some way to get better acceleration so I can spend more time driving and get back to regular mpg, because my car takes forever to get to speed limit. Would a high output alternator help at all since it could assist the IMA? Any suggestions to get better acceleration (not drag racing fast) without hurting mpg would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt anyone makes powermods for the hybrid engine, so that's out. If your not getting the rated mileage you likely are in need of a tune-up or here's something wrong with IMA system.
