4spd to 5spd EF conversion question
Hey guys,
I'm looking to buy an EF Sedan and slam it to the ground. The only problem is that I'm having troubles finding one. I found a cleeeaaan '89 civic sedan for $1200, but it's only a 4 speed.
I've tried finding an answer, but maybe I'm stupid or something. What would I need to do in order to swap in a b16a1 into the car? How difficult would it be to do this swap from 4 speed to 5 speed?
If anyone can help, it'd be awesome.
Thanks guys!

I have used the search many times, i have also used "CRX and Civic FAQ 2.0" before but both dont fully answer my questions some say its a direct bolt on, others say you have to match the years of the transmission, and the spline count. my plan is if it work to use 91 si crx transmission with si axles, with a B16A1 motor.
Thanks

I answered the first question with two links to read, the second one depends on how much you know and if you have any experience with swapping a transmission?

You could opt out the b16, and go for a d-series SI trans. which also comes in a 5speed and will work with your current d-series motor. Until you figure out what you're gonna need for a b-series swap ofcourse.
