OMG cool story bro! guess what!? you are going to mess it up. Go mess up a few and learn from your mistakes. If you stick with it then maybe you were destined to be a fabricator.

Advice I know it didn't really make sence when I first made it , I think I'm goin to wait on the intake I didn't really think bout injector placement map sensor ect.
That is some good advice there, BOOKS, you will learn so much more from them than a message board.
Are you making a turbo or NA mani? For either just look at engine building/design stuff for which ever. Than will get your foot in the door at least. Then do some on fluid dynamics, then welding if you don't already have that part down too.
After that you will have a better idea than most who just throw together some polished sheet metal and call it a day. It's pretty simple once you learn the math and basics, just don't give up

math and design before he has even cut a piece of metal or seen a welder? hmmm. He doesnt even know the limitations of fabrication/machining and welding. His approach to this is all wrong.
Best thing to do would be to get some stainless and start practicing. Then he can move on to learning how to fabricate. THEN he can worry about math and design, lol.
this is a very large can of worms you just opened.
its going to take time, money, time, time, and more money.
just buy one that is already built. and save all of the above.

agreed... if u want to do it to say you did it, it will cost way more time and money, and wont be better then someone else s product (most likely)... The idea is nice to make it yourself but most of the time, it does not pay off in the end... (take if from someone who likes to waste money/time tryin stuff, just to say i tried/did it) 9 times outta 10 i buy the nice quality part later anyway... hope this helps
hey man do what you feel you want to do... dont have people tell you not to do. yes its gonna be expensive and while to learn, unless your one of the talented people that can catch on very fast.. if no one tried in the world we wouldnt be where we are now . hey you never know this could be a start to a new career.. just saying dont let someone tell you not to try something.

don't hate on the guy for at least thinking he would be able to make one, and i'm sure he could but it would
1- not perform any better then stock prob. worse
2- look like ***
3- maybe after many many trys and figuring out what works he would get it and open his own shop
But as someone already said, it will take lots of time and money and more time and money to get good.

Seriously.
I pm'd spoolinls to offer whatever help or advice I can. Turns out he is local to me and will be stopping by the shop on Monday. I plan to run him through the whole process including all the little tips and tricks. Ultimately he is going to save quite a bit of money because he has the motivation to learn and fab his own parts.
Stay tuned guys
