Mods, if I have this up in the wrong section please feel free to move my thread to the correct section. Just trying to warn people about this since theres more traffic through here.
update 7-3-11
Wayne has stopped responding to my messages after I asked if he would guarantee his work. I mean. Rywire has a 30 warranty on their work. If you want to charge a nice amount of mOney for a harness. Wanna give a man a peace of mind before he sends you money?
Update: finally agreed on a lower price than the $350. Amount we agreed on was $265 shipped back to me. ($125 for labor+ $125 for materials+$15 for shipping/packing materials).
Reason: cause I don't want to look for another harness cause idk how long it would take him to find one. It's not $125 but I need to get my car going.
Just waiting on a response now to see if he will gurantee that the harness will work properly.
I first contacted Wayne(clipsed) a few months ago cause he posted on the ybfb krew page saying that he does tuck harnesses.
Contacted him asking for a quote and we talked about what I wanted. He then quotes me that all I gotta do is ship him my harness and he will do it for $125. Oh sweet! His price was a good amount of change less than the bigger companies so I jumped on the deal.
Shipped him my harness and he recieved it a few days later. Said he was a little busy but will work on it here n there. Alrighty, no problem. I still have to gather up the rest of the parts I needed anyways.
Month goes by and he barley/didn't even start work on my harness yet. Okay no biggie. Still gotta work on my car. Next month, get all my parts together, motor n chassis prepped to install the motor. Any new updates? Nope.
He told me he would be done by mid june.
This is when I start contacting him every other day/weekly for check ups cause I needed to get my car running on the 20th so I can take it to a tuner in Denver (3-4 hours away on a trailer, which I asked my friend to take time off to help me tow my car there). Harness still not finished. Great.
Just yesterday 7-1-11 he contacted me saying that my harness was complete and thebtotal was going to be $350!
Wth? We agreed on $125 a few months ago and now he wants to change the amount to $350.
His excuse: cost of materials was $125 + his time.
So I refused to pay him the amount today 7-2-11
So now he says he has to go and find a person to trade for a stock em1 harness and doesn't know how long that is going to take.
So now I dont have a harness and my car is still not running...kind of a shady way to do business. I went to him cause he was needing money and I was trying to help somewhat of a friend (at least I thought so, guess I was wrong ) out, which back fired.
-agreed on price of $125 before harness was shipped.
-after harness was finished, price got jacked up to $350
- now I have to wait some more for him to gets a stock em1 harness(if that is ever going to happen)

Its not your problem that he didnt estimate his expenses correctly. He should have bit the bullet and gave it to you for the $125 instead of creating all this. Thats bad business and will ruin his reputation. If you make a deal with someone like that and the payment and everything is sent then you need to stick to it, not come back and say well it cost me more than i thought so you owe me more. If i were you i would post this ALL over the internet and make people well aware of your situation. Sucks to hear man and i hope you get it all resolved.
yeah thts not right! id be pissed if it took that long and he tries to charge more than the amount agreed upon! but sooner or later this will get around as does everything in the net. bad rep= no business
