Hi guys! Sooo, i was super stoked to get another ef but i went to install two child seats and to my dismay, the shoulder belts dont lock like the new style. do any of you know a way to get around this, like I was wondering if honda will provide newer model belts to get around this, or what car i can get rear belts from that will enable the install? I am guessing eg might work and be locking style?

 

they lock in mine, maybe yours are broken......are you pulling them out all the way first?
you have to pull them all the way out and then they begin to lock as the belt goes back into the reel

 

no, they only have the "quick jolt" lock and then free up when you let pressure off a bit.... they do not lock when you pull all the way out like my ek did. I was thinking of using ratchet straps onto the bottom seatbelt anchors and not use the belts at all.

hmm.... i have no problem with my seat belts. recaro booster seat. once it's belted in and him in it, thing don't budge.

 

The car seats should come with a metal "clip or slider" that goes near the buckle when installed. Its for older type cars like EF's and once on the seat will not move foward. Check your seat owners manual.

 

My car seats lock in just fine.

neither seat came with clips, and i would still have the non-locking belt issue... both sides do it. I bought eye bolts and straps that i have clipped onto the lower belt anchors, which is way more secure anyway. The shild seats had the mentioned clip in the instructions but no one i know has used them or heard of them.

 

seat belts don't need to lock if you use the locking clip...that's unless you're talking about the buckle

 

Ill see if i can get ahold of some of those clips, not sure its really legal to have the strap setup i have right now, even if its superior lol!
