Failed smog in california
ok so i had my car smoged today and i passed the asm emission test but failed the emission control systems visual inspection/function check results
Fail-Fuel cap function test
Fail-spark controls
Fail-ignition timing
i just set the ignition timing and the guy at the smog place told me i failed because my check engine light didn't come on and from what i read on a 91 civic when u jump the service connecter to set the ignition timing the check engine light does not come on i think this guy ****ed me on my test and then he told my that my o2 sensor on my header was in the wrong place and it was modified i have a pace setter header on my car and have had it for 5 years and never had a problem in the past with it before. if any one can help me fix this problem that would be great thanks

Sounds like you went to the wrong place. They CAN get you for having the o2 sensor in the wrong place, but some dont. It sounds like they were really strict, and your best bet is fixing everything and taking it elsewhere.
yeah that is what i thought but i had to take it to a smog test only place but now that i have failed smog can i take it to a regular smog place thanks
