broke a stud over torquing my new headers
was installing headers and i over torqued the bolt and broke it off. is there an easy fix? can i do it myself? new to the forums but i have been lurking for a while. googled around but can't find a definite answer. don't want to get raped at a shop getting it fixed. anyone have this problem before?
buy this tool called a stud remover, it will grab the stud and you would use a rachet to unscrew it from the head
a quality set of vice grips could probably do it too
you have to remove your manifold to perform this

I had to do this, used an Easy-Out (or bolt extractor). Google it and look up the instructions.
I used a pointed center punch, drill, drill bit, hammer, Easy-Out and a T handle from a tap/die set.
It was an easy job for me, but the engine was on a stand. If you are doing this with the engine in the car, you may have to remove some stuff to make more room to work (example: radiator fan, radiator etc.) depending upon which stud is broken.
Remember too, those exhaust manifold nuts only need to be torqued to around 25 lbs-ft.

If you have never drilled a bolt out like such, i wouldn't recommend testing it out on a head. Steel bolt, aluminum head, easy to screw something up. Is it sticking out at all or is it broke off inside the head? If its flush or even close most exhaust shops can weld a nut to the stud, and simply turn it out by said nut.
