ok so i have a crx, 89 dx to be exact. the passenger door is the problem. everytime i hit a bump or a left turn it would beep and the light on the dash came on. i tried to adjust the metal hook thing the door grabs onto wen it closes. today i even took out the switch and grounded that wire and the problem went away.... so i thought. i went to the store for beer, hit a pothole and ithe light came on along with the beep. i reach over and tug on the passenger door and the beeping goes away. any ideas?

 

Unscrew the 1 screw on the black tab, clean off the ****. Usually there's some crap corroded on it. Clean it, then put it back on. Also if the tab has broken down a little just rap some electrical tape on it to make it wider to press the tab farther to not trigger the sensor.

 

GUH i thought i was the only one with this stupid issue.

 

already did it. the sensor is out of the question, its removed and still does it

 

yeah my dam seatbelt light flashes all day even though im buckled and the plug is plugged in i just ignore it.... but would like to fix it someday

 

i just unplugged the light itself and the beeping stopped with it

 

well i just want to get everything working right. is there another sensor on the door?

 

nobody knows? this is getting irritating

clean both door switches
i'm thinking maybe it's a different bad ground?
or more possibly there was an alarm previously installed in the car, and they used a stupid connector that is grounding out on the chassis.

 

i cleaned them both and i dont think its a ground cuz wen it beeps i can pull on the passenger door and it will go off but theres no sensor on there! im thinkin maybe theres one in the door, or the wire has a short

 

cmon these cars are 20+ years old and nobody has solved this problem??

 

I was browsing through a couple of thread much like yours and I found where people would hit the brakes the light would come on, supposedly the horn fuse under the hood was blown and they replaced that and it fixed it?
