97 Honda Civic with Weird Starting Issue
Ok.. So i goto work car starts fine, no problem. I get off, car doesnt start, the next day, i return to my car and a mechanic happens to stop by, as he didnt speak any english, he simply touched a wire from the battery, to the negative on the starter (i think thats what it was, little clip on the end), and viola, car started fine, i drove it home. I assumed it was the Rattler alarm i had on it and recently lost the clickr too and would sometimes give me issues... Well, i pressed the valet switch, which normally disables the alarm, yet the car will not start unless i use the wire trick.... Any ideas? I checked all the fuses as well.... Any help would be appreciated!
Try bypassing the alarm altogether if you can. If it still doesn't work then you need to do some trouble shooting in the wiring. Check the wiring going from the starter to the battery and replace if needed.
bad ground, as in to the battery or to the starter? Could it possibly be the ignition switch? And i just crimp the wires together to bypass the alarm correct? from ignition switch to the wire comming out of the alarm? It seems like they match, same ammount...
