Default Switching to Honda MTF

So I'm thinking of switching to Honda MTF as my gear changes are sometimes a bit notchy. I have no idea whats in there at the moment (I assume just engine oil), so hypothetically if there is engine oil in there, am I wise to just drain and refill with MTF and have contaminated MTF, or is there some trick of the trade when switching?

Thanks

By the way, how much is Honda MTF elsewhere in the world? My local honda dealer wants $38 per litre (US$31), in New Zealand.

5w30 full synthetic. Roughly a third the cost here in the chicagoland. But if you wanna through money away, enjoy

What about, since MTF is 75w-80 GL-4 oil, I assume using 75w-85 GL-4 oil from another brand would be fine, since its considerably cheaper?

I went from redline to Honda mtf and it felt like a downgrade. I was better off with the redline.

Just go with non-synthetic 10w-30 oil.
