Default DA jdm Y1 lsd passanger side fluid leak

Ok so I have a jdm Y1 with lsd and it has been rebuilt this last saturday with new seals and gaskets from honda and its leaking from the passanger side. Im tired of having this tranny leak all the time leaving spots after spots.
Im useing the 91 ls axles with abs, am I supposed to use the 92-93 gsr axle since the Y1 lsd is a gsr diff. Its leaking from the axle seal and I noticed that it has a bit of play so Im thinking the ls axles are a bit smaller than the gsr..

anyone out there with the jdm Y1 have the passanger side leaking also..

to give you guys an idea of my setup and help narrow it down:
innovative mounts for the 91 cable setup.(all 4)
skunk2 type s pro full coilovers. maybe a 1.5" drop its not slamed.
195-55-15 tires and still dont rub..
ingals front camber kit, nothing in the rear.
autozone 90-93 axles. I gave up on oem honda axles since it still leaked with them.

I have a Y1 LSD in my integra with LS axles from autozone with no leaks. I remember when I went to get the axle seals from autozone they did not fit properly. This may be the source of your problem if you are using autozone seals.

I ended up getting the axle seals from the Acura dealer and have had no problems since.

what year seals are you getting or part number cuz im actually getting them from the dealer for a 91 5 spd tranny.
Ill have to lift the car and take pics, im sure I installed them correctly but can someone let me know exactly how to put them in. I use a rubber mallet to tap it in place and not far back where it sitts flush.

I did have my front lower crossmember taken off to install my swap, could that be the reason since it wasnt lined up right or something.

I am using the 92 integra LS seals in my Y1. They should be the same seals as the 91 and the gsr. I don't think a misaligned cross member would cause your transmission to leak. Perhaps when you raise the car you will be able to see exactly where the leak is coming from.

Ive washed the entire engine and tranny from top to bottom, its always wet on the right inner shaft passanger side of the tranny. I can take the car for a normal low smooth drive and no leaks, then go out and take it to 9k 1-2-3-4 and find a mess of tranny fluid on the inner joint dripping all the way back to the shift linkage.

ok maybe not to 9k rpms but 8.5k rpms. I do have a jdm 98 spec itr swap.
could it be that the y1 just cant keep up with the b18c....

hmm well I have a JDM b18C (GSR not Type R) but I don't drive it hard very often. Since the Y1 trans is short geared I am assuming it was made for the high revving v-tec B series engines.

I would try changing the passenger side axle seal, maybe yours got damaged. What you described sounds exactly like what happened when my axle seal was leaking, but I was using the wrong seal not a damaged one haha.

you sure it's not leaking from the bell housing seam and dripping down to the seal?

The y1 tranny can and will keep up with your engine giving it a more impressive overall powerband.

Are you overfilling the trans? (1.9q I think)

I would say just make sure 100% were your leaking from so you don't waste time on something not needed.

yes Im 100% sure its leaking from the axle seal..
just an update on the lsd I just got installed, it took a dump and split down the middle..
this is the second lsd that breaks in my tranny. I either have bad luck with trannies or I need to swich to hydro.
Im not even pushing more than 200hp like other cars and I dont even drag or race..

I guess the only advice I can give you if your serious about keeping your cable y1 and fix all the problems is to talk to James@gearspeed here in the transmission section, he's super cool and will answer any questions you got about a rebuild or any questions in general. Thats were I'm taking my tranny once I can find a final drive.

You know who this is ha?
