Leaking oil from headgasket!? i just changed it!!
my motors been leaking oil from the headgasket and i just got on a golden eagle head gasket and as i started it up today.. it's still leaking oil from the head gasket!!
i'm just about to give up..
it's either i have a bad block or bad oil pump because i have two broken oil jets as i noticed from changing my oil
1st one that came out

second.

prev owner's friend built the motor for him
mods are:
96 spec itr head
first gen GSR b18c1 block
Ls crank and rods
ctr pistions (car is running on e85)
ACL bearings
Skunk 2 pro 2 camshafts
dual valve springs
titanium retainers
itr intake
all i got was a new head gasket and a PWDJDM intake gasket
and it's still leaking!

wow man worst thing to do no is to inspect everything, inspect oil pressure. Make sure its up to factory specs. Also did you check for warpage before the installation?
Are both surfaces of the head and block flat? Did you torque the headstuds down properly?
Are you positive is not leaking from something else?
Looks like your motor is F'd anyways!

the head i took for cleaning new valve seals and decked
the bottom end i just took a die grinder to clean the surfaces.. it doesnt look warpage..
i torque them down properly and it's still leaking from the headgasket
this build was already built by the last owners friend.. i dont want to spend too much already on this build
You can't tell by just looking at it to see if it is warped. Should of used a straight edge and ran it across the surface of the block. Where exactly is the oil coming from, as in which side of the motor?

lol. figured it wasn't the HG.
it will always look like it is because of the seam. always look from higher places
and if you put the gasket on upside down, it would have ran extremely poorly, if at all

damn man i have the same problem with my ls. pulled the old head and put on a new-er one on with new headgasket(up) and it leaks oil somewhat. worst part is there was no warpage at all and tourqed everything down 2psi over my shop manuals recommended..
over 2 ft/lbs? how's its standing?
yeah i added an extra 2ft/lbs on top of factory spec because they were the original head bolts and im not sure how many times they have been re used. she runs great besides a slight hesitation but i i think the coil may be on its way out.
make sure to spread a little grease around the inner lip.
also, make sure to dab grease in a few spots on the back side of the seal. this will keep the spring inside from popping off when you drive them in
the caps don't need to come off. you will need to slip the belt off though. then remove the cam sprockets. pay attention to how far the seals sit in their bore. as i don't think they bottom out when you drive them in.
