wtf is hyper black...anyways this is what I did to my HX's and flat blacked em..
1. degrease
2. sand (320 grit)
3. spray light coat of flat black paint
4. more light coats
5. then once everything is covered, more coats of flat black (we did like 3-4)
uhh yah...

Just use paint that is meant to stick to all kinds of metals.
A friend ended up using one can per wheel, plus primer. So plan on buying a lot.

Use Krylon and only Krylon. They got ultra flat black, flat black, gloss black, and high gloss black. Wash the wheels good, use at least 320 grit sandpaper or a scuff pad, then wash the wheels again. Spray a light coat of sandable primer over the entire surface(will leave kinda rough), and let it set for a few, and follow with a few regular coats of primer. You can wet sand that down for smoothness, or, leave it, depending on how it feels. Then always start with a light coat of paint, completely covering the surface, to make sure pain is sticking well, then apply as necessary. At least 4 good coats should be fine, but do as much as you'd like. Post pics when done!!
