Lets talk slick sizes (help needed)
I have done some searching but haven't really found the info I am looking for so maybe someone will help me out. Anyways I am starting to get back into drag racing since my Teg is up and running yadda yadda yadda. Anyways I went to the track last night on 6lbs of boost and some Kumho street tires, needless to say it was spin city, ran 13.5@109mph on 13psi in the front tires with 2.2-2.4 60ft's. I am getting ready to turn the boost up with goals of 500+ on pump and even more on race gas. So slicks are a must, now heres where I need some help.
I have a set of 13 and 14in steelies laying around collecting dust that i could mount some slicks on. My issue with the 13in steelies is brake clearance. So first question, will spacers allow the 13s to clear my brakes, if so what size spracer would be needed?
Now to the 14 in steelies, I don't see a whole lot of options for 14in tires, is there any that will work for my goals?
I have GSR gearing and a Mfactory LSD if that makes much of a difference. All help is appriciated

Both the wheels you metioned are just not wide enough for any serious traction but if you must use one of them go with the 14" an put sum M/H slicks they sell them for 14"
See dimond racing, they make wheels to your spec i.e weld, exospeed, lenso's, I'd shoot for 15x8 at first with 5in back spacing. Then i'd buy some 24.5 MT's.....Idk about 500whp on pump 93 but E85 will be better! Then its practice at the light!
Traction Bars A Must on slicks!

500whp on pump with my setup doesn't seem too far fethced given the numbers others are making on simliar setups, but we shall see. I have found some wheels sold by Summit that are 13" and like $50 a piece, I just don't know if they'll clear stock brakes and neither do they so that is what has me reluctant to buy them...
Anyone else? I am in a pretty good argument about this topic with my dad. He doesn't seem to understand why 24.5x8.13 is such a popular choice for high hp cars, and why they won't work with a 5.5-6in wide factory steelie, anyone care to chime in?

Not enough contact patch on the ground. If you get a narrower wheel the tire will not be at its optimal shape for good grip. You can also go to a 24.5x15 x8 which will have more sizes that are closer to what you need. I think you can even get some XXR's in a 15 x 8 that would work well.
wouldn't the 15in wheel with a 24.5slick cause a lot of unwanted rubbing on the fenders? I have coilovers on the car so I could raise it to tonka truck status if need be, I do have a set of 15in steelies that came on my GSR the day I picked it up...
wether it a 13 or a 15 the tire is 24.5" tall either way
seen a guy at my local track with the diamond rims on a ep3 if that helps any

Yeah there was a guy at the track wednesday in an EG with 24.5 and they sat close to his fenders even with car raise to stock height. Man oh man pickign slicks is a pain in the dick
Not really that big of a pain in the ***. 24.5's on a GSR trans will cover most anything you ever want to do with it. For a 13 inch wheel, run no narrower than a 7" width wheel to run the 24.5 x 8.5's. Stock tire height is usually somewhere between 22.7 and 23.1 inches on civics and integras, so you really are not adding much. The Diamond Racing wheels work out very nice. Need to space them slightly on stock GS-R brakes where the Lenso's make it over the brakes just fine. Either way, a good combo will last you a long time. Also, tell your dad, 24.5's are nicer to the drivetrain than lets say 26's, which are WAY too much tire anyway.
Alright so I found a set of 24.5x9x13 in MT with 3 passes on them locally for a dirt cheap price. Now I need some wheels to put them on, I have found these, but just needing to know what backspace I need, they have 4" and 5". I have been researching all day and can't really find anyone running them on a Honda, hopefully they clear the stock DC brakes

Opinions as to if or if not they will clear the brakes and work with 9" wide slicks

If your worried about weight, you need more power lol. Just kidding, they are a little heavy but for the cost I am willing to over look that
