Hey, so im wanting to replace my starter cause mine is going bad(98 LS manuel) . I got one bolt out but the other (the lower one, closest to the firewall). It's a bitch to get out. Wont budge at all, and im not trying to break or strip the bolt. Has anyone came across this and have any ideas to get it out? Any help would be nice. Thanks.

 

You probably just aren't giving it enough torque. IIRC it's a big bolt and shouldn't break too easily.

What's the length of the handle you're using to torque the bolt loose?

 

I agree^^^ put a little more into it, also try the old school "trick" tighten it first, to break it free. 94

 

It's only a 14mm in size(metric). How bad is it? Use a cheater bar. Jack handle bar is perfect.

 

Yea you won't break that bolt unless you stand on it with a 2' breaker. I've broken sockets before braking bolts of that size. Just give it some muscle.
