yesterday i read some very helpful information on here about honda main relays. i'd like to start by saying thank you to those who made those posts. today i went to my local auto parts store to order a new one and was told i had to have the part number because they make 2 different ones. he also said that usually the solder goes bad and that i could probably fix the old one by re-soldering the connections. has anyone ever tried this? honestly i think that for $40 i'd rather have the security of an entirely new part. my biggest problem, however, is that i can't find the relay. i looked at the diagrams on this site and to me it looked like it's located inside the driver compartment along the left hand inner wall above the fuse box. but i didn't see anything there when i crawled up under there. any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

yes, from under the dash. it should be almost directly above the hood release. It pretty much is inside the side panel. One bolt should be holding it.
