Default Using a Si Distributor on a ZC, get me passed code 9?

Here's my idea, I'm throwing code 9 and running absolutly horribly. I just did the swap a couple days ago. I had some distributor problems with no spark but somehow I had another teg distributor laying in the garage I could use. I still have my Si distributor which I believe has the cylinder position sensor built in because it has the two wires. I saw some sites that said the Si distributor was a usable replacement on the zc, but when I tried it a couple days ago the bracket wouldn't fit. Should I just go junking and buy a cylinder position sensor or can I mod this si Distributor to get me by?

Hmmm, good question. I don't think it will work though. First, you'd have to rewire your distributor. Then hope it reads the sensor the same way.

Good question. Can somebody give him a more def answer? I think no, but in theory its still sensing the cam position.

It seems like I remember hearing back in the days when most people we're still playing with mini trucks that you could use an Si distributor on the ZC, but you had to only use one of the three bolts. I really can't remember any of the details, but it might be something to look at as a temporary fix.

The only thing I'd wonder about is that the distributor is on the intake cam and the cylinder position sensor is on the exhuast cam, if you look at cams aren't they mirrored, lobe wise, I wonder if anything like that would make the sensor think it's at 180 degrees of what it really is, as for me having to swap the wires for the plugs that's no problem I've had to do it about 5 times in the last two days

the si distributor will slide in, but you'll have to find some way to customize it to hold on.. i'd try to find another sensor, maybe off an 88-89 integra

I thought that was why you turned the TPS wires around, so it would turn it 180 degrees... hence making the SI dizzy work... Im not ZC expert though...

turning the TPS wires around is for the dx-zc conversion, because the dx throttlebody turns the opposite way as opposed to the si or zc tbody

When I started to do my ZC swap, I found out hte idiots sent me an OBD-1 ZC, not an OBD-0. Well the OBD-1 ZC had no cam sensor....so I plugged in the HF one that I had and tried to make it work. I took apart the dizzys from both engines and mapped out where the wires came from and where they were going to. I tried multiple wiring options but could never get it to run. So, I broke down and got a ZC dizzy and cam sensor....it runs fine now.

I just contacted the people who sold me the wrong engine and persuaded them via a very formal letter threatening legal action unless the sent me a dizzy and cam sensor from a OBD-0 ZC...they sent me the parts ...or just get em' off a TEG!
