hay i have a 91 ef civic and a b16a engine that i want to swap. what loom do i use. can i use the one in the car atm do i use the loom that waz in the car the engine out of or do i have to buy one made for ef b16a swap. what ecu do i use i no its got to be a vtec b16a one but can it be from any car or duz it have to be from the same car az the engine came from plz help me

 

I have a 91 hatch with a b16a Obd0..I run the Si engine harness all the connections are the same..yes you can use the same harness from the car.All you would need to do is wire the vtec and the second O2 sensor to your harness. For the computer it all depends on the year your b16 is from or what you want to run.

 

thanks what ecu do i use it didint come with one but can i use any b16a ecu will the engine monts mach up

 

you can NOT run a mpfi wiring harness on a dpfi model, you need to take a dpfi harness and modify it to mpfi and add vtec, or buy one form many different places (rywire, ebay... etc). for the ecu if you want to stay obd0 get a PW0 ecu, or switch to obd1 using a jumper harness (you can do dpfi to mpfi vtec conversion using boomslang harness) and use a p30 ecu or chipped ecu

 

like on the dpfi harness u cut of the plugs and replace them on the mpfi harness can i buy a harness that duz it all with the jumper harness soz im a noob
