Default trunk hard to lock

I saw a link up once where someone was seeking assistance with their trunk. I am having similar problems the trunk only locks after two attempts and when i slam it hard which i should not do as it use to lock good before this. please help pics would be an asset.

The bump stops could be stopping it from closing. Well at least i think the trunk has bump stops. If it does try turning those inward a bit. If I'm wrong and it doesn't have bump stops, its your latch.

Try adjusting the striker. (the metal "loop" that the latch locks on when you close the lid)

That last post has nothing to do with your issue. There's two bolts on the 'loop' that the hood latches into. Loosen them up, and slide it towards you. Tighten them back up and you should be good.

Peel back the plastic trim and you should see the bolts.

Pull up on it. It's held in place with metal clips.

The clips hold it in rather tightly, it'll make some noise and really "pop" when the clips come out. At least mine does.

so i peeled the plastic back pulled the loop towards me and it still would not close. However i solved the probably. There is a small spring on the latch that apparently it was worn out so i replaced it and presto closes like a charm
