Default anyone know how to turn off autolock function?

Does anyone know how to turn off the function that unlocks the doors automatically when the car is turned off? I have a turbo timer and when the car turns off, the doors unlock. I want to be able to lock them when I go into fast food places, banks and small places like that where I dont need to set the alarm since I am right there, but want my car locked anyway. And does anyone see any problems that having this feature disconnected might cause. Thanks.

i think you need to get an aftermarket alarm as the honda ones dont have features that can be disabled.

But you might want to check with the dealer on that to be sure, since I know that honda doesnt make the alarms.

I think you may have an aftermarket alarm already. If you have keyless entry, even if it looks like a Honda remote, it may be another company. I used to work at a Honda dealership and never noticed any car (new or used) unlock the doors when the ignition was turned off. None of the 4 that I've owned have done it either. Anyone else know about this?

I do have an aftermarket alarm. And when the ignition is turned off, the doors unlock. My coupe does it and my 96 GSR did it. And on the GSR, the doors also looked when the car was initially turned on. The stock honda alarm has been disconnected and the new alarm installed instead. The doors lokcing isnt part of the alarm though, at least I dont think it is. Damn, I though it was just a wire I would need to cut and that would be that. Looks like its gonna be a good deal more.

your in luck.. cause i work w/ car alarms all day at work.. i install dei alarms and they ahve set the standard for car alarms nowadays.. you can either get your hands on a copy of the install manual from http://www.alarms.com if its a dei made product or you can get under your dash and cut the wire that is going to the ignition coming off the alarm. its easier and better to program the locks then cut the wire.. it is actually a feature called ignition controlled door locks, when you start the car and turn it off the locks will lock or unlock..
