I have a 95 hatch I just picked up recently completely stock with 150k original miles. When I went to see it, it had heat and all the pieces for the air conditioner but the a/c didn't work. the guy who sold it to me said he would fix it. He said he had to change the compressor and fix some wiring and it turned out working really good. I have frigid cold a/c lol. My problem is now I don't have heat and today I touched the evaporator and it felt like it was frozen and had ice on it. If anyone has input on what's wrong or how to fix it please let me know id greatly appreciate it.

 

possible a bad heater core, valve, or cable stuck in open position so when switch to heat its not allowing to closed the heater valve

 

This is a good start of things to check. Im guessing cable..

It shouldn't unless the ac is on. It sounds like you need to check and find out if the ac is turning off does the compresser clutch engage and disengage when you turn the ac on and off

 

So I drove my car today and the a/c wasn't as cold as it was before but the evaporator wasn't freezing up. But out of nowhere while I was idling I heard the compressor shut off and the a/c stopped working. But now my heat works great just no a/c. Anyone have any input as to what's going on? I haven't had time to really check anything and I'm thinking about just taking it to a shop to get it checked out.
