Bandsaw snapping blades?
OK, I have a jet 7x12 horizontal saw that has snapped a couple of blades in quick succession, the first one had been in there a while but the second had hardly any use before it snapped.
Both blades have had trouble with getting stuck in the material I'm cutting and I have to lift it up to start it cutting again.
Anyone have any ideas? I have the blade tension set quite a bit past the mark but have varied the tension without it making much difference.
Any help would be appreciated.

I guess it's too much tension. The bearings and rollers are good, thinking about it having tensioned the blade right up and then slackening it off may have stretched it a bit.
Actually, if your catching blades in the part your cutting, most of the time your feed rate is to high. This can also be fixed by the (tpi) on your blade. If you have say (10-14 tpi) and your cutting 16g stainless tube, you will more then likely catch the material your cutting causing the blade to snap or get ripped off track. So try more tpi. Hope this helps
give specialty saw a call 1-800-225-0772 and tell them what your cutting. Been getting all my blades from them for years . Good long lasting blades aen't cheap to buy but should be cheap to use when they last.
