why does your wife have a twin disc? lol... twin discs aren't really notorious for extreme pedal feel (I daily drive mine).
If yours is stiff, it's probably a normal clutch setup with a heavy duty pressure plate. Since you said its "loud" I would presume that you're talking about clutch chatter, which would lead me to believe that it's a pucked clutch. My 6puck chattered the most in the past, the 4 and 3 pucks didn't chatter all that much before they hooked up.
without knowing exactly what clutch went in or peeking in, I would say you probably have an ACT setup. The competition/exedy/etc. don't really have the characteristics you're describing. but once again, it's a guess.
For what clutch to get, what are your goals in terms of power etc.? If you're staying NA, an OEM clutch or another full-disc (non-pucked) clutch will do just fine. Swap out for a lightened flywheel if you want a peppier feeling motor.

ehh duno about the flywheel if u got an ap2 than yea but if ur ap1 stick with the stock. from what i read a 10-11lb flywheel is the best for both motors anything lighter is too light

The stock flywheel isn't bad. But using a 10lb or so flywheel wouldn't be a terrible idea. Although, the stock one is much easier to drive. The stock clutch is totally fine if you're not going F.I. with the engine. Just use the upgraded AP2 disk to prevent the clutch buzz. Or maybe like an Exedy stage1 or something for a little bit more clutch engagement grip.
If your goal is to make your daily driver a weekend auto-cross champ as well then I would advise to stick with the OEM AP1 clutch. As other posters have testified, the extra stiff pedal effort and trickier engagement point that accompany most after market high-performance clutches would be unnecessary in the congestion encountered whilst commuting, unless you plan on adding a turbo or supercharger to your car that is.
I have similar goals for my '04 S2000 as you do so I plan on adding some minor bolt-on mods while sticking with the OEM clutch. Thus far it's endured my abuse with good nature, save for a 1-2 shift fork that I've had to replace (ref #4 in the diagram: http://www.hondapartsnow.com/Page_Pr...20Shift%20Fork) I think that this may be a common point of wear on S2000 transmissions but perhaps it's just unique to my particular model?
Anywhoo, I'd like to reiterate that you should be kosher with the OEM clutch for your specific goals/needs!
The act hdss pressure plate with the OEM disc is the best combo unless you have over 350 lbs/tq...the new honda OEM disc was resigned so that there is no more clutch buzz. The new act hdss kit uses a new OEM disc with a bit of tweaking from act so it's essentially the same thing....
It's the best pedal feel, holds more than enough power and is extremely durable. Can't go wrong with it.
The comps have a pedal feel lighter than stock, and when combined with their 6 or 4 puck discs, are a complete PITA to drive. It's too on/off, but holds good power.
Specs are garbage, as I blew through 2 of them and have read and heard nothing but bad things about them.
The SOS kit is really nice, but there is better out there for the money.

I've used 3
ACT had the best bite but was killer on my knee
SOS felt almost stock but I burned it with a supercharger
Clutch Masters feels almost stock, and hasnt had any problems for a year. Good luck on your search.

I have a ACT prolite flywheel and a Clutchmasters stage 3 clutch with 0 miles ok them.... Pm me if interested in the clutch or I will give you a deal on both
i've gone threw a few clutches, act is not a clutch i would buy again. track car wise, and street spec has been the best. sos is obliviously imported r&d tech, wouldn't try it.
Whatever route your choose, spend the 50 bucks while you have the car apart to have your OEM flywheel resurfaced. And if you stick with an OEM set-up, make sure to replaced your pilot and throwout bearings and I'd probably make sure to replace the pressure plate.
