Wetsanding and Buffing Paint Enamel?
My friend told me that I can't wetsand and buff my 91 crx with original paint because they used a different painting process in that time. He says they used single layer paint enamel with the clear coat mixed in as opposed to modern day paint where they spray a base coat then clear. Is he right? Or can I carefully wetsand and buff my paint? Thanks
I want to do this only to my quarter where I did some body work. I sprayed some rattle can perfect match paint, but it has an almost unnoticeable paint line where I taped off. I want to wetsand the entire quarter then buff it to blend it together. Does that sound like it will work?
If the paint is in fact single stage, it can be buffed if it is a solid color, but it cannot be buffed if it is a metallic paint.
