Default clutch noise

I have an 01 civic dx m/t. It makes a rattling sound. But it goes away when I press in the clutch. Any hints as to what is causing this?

Input shaft bearing, most likely. You'll need to remove the transmission, split it open, remove some guts, replace the bearing, put the guts back in it, put it back together, and reinstall the transmission.

Cheap part, but a PITA to replace.
