H23 Prelude Overheating
Hey wats up i have a problem here my prelude keeps overheating ive changed the radiator thermostat and water pump and timing belt and it still overheats any ideas thanks in advance.
Heres whats going on im buying the car from someone who fixted all of the above i talked to him today and he said that the upper radiator hose has a hole in it and its spraying coolant everywhere he said he can only drive 5 miles max. So im thinking just buy a new radiator hose and some coolant i should be fine.
I would get the new hose, bleed the system, then see if it holds pressure or not. If it doesnt you have other problems. Did he replace the thermostat or just take it out? If he just took it out to try to fix the overheating problem, it wouldnt have worked and would have only made it worse.
If you haven't already, it probably wouldn't hurt to see if the coolant is getting into your oil somehow. (blown head gasket perhaps)
I work at a rapid lube shop and have seen some things like that before.
