Icon3 trouble with dc2 gsr

I need some help badly. My problems started when I noticed that it was hard to crank my car once its gotten warmed up. Shortly after I started to overheat and was losing coolant but found no leaks. The oil started to look like something was mixing with it. I assumed it was the headgasket and replaced it with a Cometic gasket. I've also replaced the dizzy, radiator, and the thermostat. I just finished putting the new head gasket on and its like I'm back at square one, will crank just fine, it warms up, I cut it off, then its like it doesn't wanna start. Should also be noted that I have a golden eagle block guard on, got to thinking that the block guard might be some how allowing coolant on top of the pistons, but there is no gasket made for use of a blockguard. Also the dizzy gets crazy hot, is currently pushed all the way towards the intake side. Was set like this when I got my n/a tune. Just tryin to include anything that might be off. Any input is greatly appreciated, HELP PLZ!!!

cam timing could be off a tooth. if the block or head has been shaved a decent amount the gears won't line up anymore and you HAVE to degree the cams for it to run right.

other than that to set timing you jump the jumper under the passenger side dash, warm the car up, get your gun and set the mark to the red dot on the crank pulley when the engine is at 750rpm

Putting on that cometic gasket is more than likely your problem. Unless u got your head and block resurfaced that cometic gasket normally wont seal, hell my cometic gasket didn't seal on a freshly built motor with the matting surface resurfaced. Also depending on how long the issue was going on you might have a warped head. Also the block guard wasn't made to be level with the blocks surface it is suppose to be recessed down a few millimeter also block guards in my opinion can cause more harm than good.

how did i overlook this, all completely true ^

also, when they resurface the block and head the shop MUST use a cutting wheel designed for MLS gaskets.
