I have a 91 crx dx and an 89 civic si hatch. Does either car have a quicker ratio steering rack? Or, do all efs have the same ratio? Do any ef's or da's have a quicker ratio steering rack? Thanks

 

I think they all have the same steering rack between cars with the same type of steering (manual vs power). But if you're looking for a quick steering rack you can get one for Quafe for like $200 or something.

 

The ratios are all slightly different between dx, si and power. I think there might be a thread in the faq already listing all the ratios. None are much different.

Quaife has a quick steering rack that only fits in the dx rack.

I don't think any other rack from another model works. Not that I've heard.

 

Thanks guys, I did a search and read about the Quaife. How do you adjust for slop in the steering? Something about a huge nut that people turn with pipe wrenches?

 

That's adjusting the pinion, but more importantly replacing the rack end bushing if it hasn't been. That's also in the faq.
