flew down for my cousins graduation...

he owns an 09 civic, and the oil change mileage is at like -6700. as per following the service manuals instructions on resetting it, it doesn't work.

it keeps flashing the mileage and wont let us scroll to the oil life percentage screen.


any thoughts?

Since the oil meter has gone down to the negative, that's the oil light meter.

Reset as usual.

 

Nice attitude. The response and help you're getting is amazing.

 

Make sure the headlights are off when trying to reset the maintenance minder.

If the instructions from the owner's manual doesn't work, your cousin may have to go to the Honda dealer to reset the maintenance minder using the HDS-Honda Diagnostic System.

 

Just hold it in, It will go out after about 10 secs

 

Count slowly, it takes longer than you think......feels like an eternity......good luck!
