Icon2 Will P2P ECU work temporarily on 1996 GSR?

my obd2a p72 ecu was stolen from my 96 gsr. i have a 1996-98 civic ex p2p ecu that's also obd2a. My question is will this ecu work in my DC2 GSR til i get another p72? or will it hurt the motor if i drive it?

wheres my h-t guru's? someones gotta know this. and dont just take a guess. i have it hooked up and ive started the car, but im afraid that if i drive it for a week or so that it could do damage.

No, the ignition and timing maps are not the same, not to mention 100 other things.

Yes, it will "run" the engine, has compatible idle controls, etc.. I would just not drive hard as it WILL be running lean.

The IAB will also be open all of the time. I have a stock 37820-P72-A03 ECU sitting in my garage. It is the original from my 97 GSR.

Who steals an OBDIIA ECU?

ok i have a p72 with hondata s200 chipped for a boosted gsr would it hurt anything to put it in an h22 prelude. i am not sure if it was chipped right so i want to try it just to eliminate it.

That will work great on an H22 as long as you upload an H22 map and tune it.

well i drove it from north LA county to long beach and back and it made it safely. my new p72 ecu is in and it works like a charm, no harm done! but i still wouldnt reccomed it. : /
