So my 2007 civic's cd player isn't working right. when i insert the disc, it doesn't go all the way, you can see it sticking out a little bit, the cd player will make some noises, say loading disc and then spit it back out again.

is there any easy fix for this? i took it to my honda dealer and they said they could replace it for 500 bucks but also mentioned there are cheaper options out there.

I am in Ottawa, Canada. Does anyone know of places that fix these cd players? If i get an aftermarket one, I'm guessing the old one just sits there dead? If thats the case I'd rather get the factory one fixed or replaced but at am hoping to find a cheaper alternative to doing so.

disconnect the battery to reset the system. keep your owners manual and original documents you got with the car handy, you will need the stereo code to unlock the system afterward.

sounds like cd player went bad. I believe it's common. this is when you wish you had extended warrenty getting OEM or Aftermark, it's up to you from here
