Cole's EG hatch dx build
Since I like following peoples builds and getting inspired by their 100 page build threads I figured I'd do the same with my (new) 92 hatch. I've never done a complete build before but i'm ridiculously excited about it. It's a complete pos right now but i'm up for the challenge. Within the first week i had to replace the axles, seals, both side view mirrors, some bushings, and the hatch shocks. Oh and the rear motor mount bolt just fell out while i was driving one day, that was fun rofl. So now that i have it in semi-drivable condition, I'm starting to save for my b-series. But in the meantime, I'm getting some body work done.. so many dents EVERYWHERE. here's some pics of my progress thus far...

The driver door came out red and all the other panels ive done so far were blue lol. Anyway.. I'm doing **** to this thing literally every day so i'll keep updating and putting up more pics. Anyone in central FL? Could always use more people into this stuff

Thx dude. I think i'm going with b16 since its more in my price range. I might go lsd if its worth it and i have the cash. Are there any reputable honda motor distributors in central FL? or in FL at all? Havin to pay that shipping from cali is gonna kill me lol
ya check out jdmtechmotors.com. ive thought about ordering from them before, there in orlando. dont know personally how good they are but never heard anything bad from people who have.
soo question.. When i got done priming the door, after it dried it feels very gritty, almost like a fine grit sandpaper, not smooth at all. the other panels i did came out fine and it felt very smooth before i applied the primer and i cleaning it beforehand too.. I used an automotive primer on the door thats the only difference. any ideas? will that be less noticable after its painted?

couldn't yo just wetsand the door to get it smooth? thumbs up to you...
hopefully will be starting the body work on mine in the fall if everything shapes up.

Body work is easy as pie... But I would recommend getting an hvlp gun and air compressor to shoot actual automotive primer, not cheap $3 spray cans, it's horrible primer for automotive applications...
Small update today.. got the top strip done at work, no body filler needed but i did find some rust spots and some spots that had been filled before. And I got some info from jdm tech in orlando and they should be getting a new shipment of b16s in mid july which is around the time i'll be getting enough money for one so hopefully i'll be getting my engine in mid july! ^_^

Lowe's has a kolbalt hvlp gun for like $40 which is perfect for primer. Would not reccommend a cheap gun for clear or base, because it doesnt atomize enough...
Question if anyone can help me out... I've run into this problem with the plastic on the front and rear bumpers.. like i sanded too far or something? its really rough and u can see it thru the primer.. what do u i do about that? can i smooth it out?
