Default Obd1 Auto to Manual

http://mycomputerninja.com/~jon/www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view/Library/OBD1CivicIntegraAutoManual.html

the usual auto to manual conversion you just unsolder or clip R17 and R18 then bridge R18 with a wire. My question is since the diagram shows the major difference with the auto have two more high side switches than the manual, can you just removed them? also then you should be able to use them for the vtec conversion on the same unit, and then you'll have an extra for another ecu if you want....

Yes you can remove them & use them for ic14. There is however a difference between 5151 and 5050 high side switches. 11f0 and 1980 boards use 5151 in ic14 for vtec. 1720 boards use 5050 in ic14 for vtec.

the board that i will be using for the conversion is a

PO6 - Auto converted to Manual
Board Stamp - 02D011F0-1500

So all i should need to do is remove both high sides from IC15 & IC16 then swap them into IC13 / IC14. Also add the other over the counter components.

No need to touch ic13. Add a 5151 to ic14 and you will have one spare 5151 transistor.

FYI: You can install a jumper wire/ O ohm resistor in J10 (to the right of IC14) to bypass IC13 completely.

As mentioned above. Don't use ic13.
On an 11f0 board install:
ic14 sk5151
d11 diode
c60 cap
q101 transistor
j10 jumper
r201 (usually already there) add 10k resistor

etc...

just one more thing, once the new parts are add into the board. will the computer be looking for vtec, and will it throw a code? Or the only way to enable the vtec portion of the ecu is to build and compile a vtec rom with vtec enabled....

The ecu doesn't know that the parts are installed unless the rom the ecu is running is using vtec code to use the vtec hardware.
