My throw out bearing faled last week so i replaced the clutch pressure plate and flywheel but now the clutch is slipping bad. I noticed the clutch pedal felt extremly light/soft but got a little stiffer on its own. what am I missing? fluid is full. I read somewhere there are issues with the pedal adjustment and bleeding the slave but i'm not sure. anyone have any suggestions?

 

Have you bled out the system checking for any air bubbles? also when you installed the new clutch did you wipe down the flywheel pressure plate of any grease? Also trying adjusting the pedal maybe its not fully releasing. but if it is a new clutch sounds like it just needs to be bled.

 

No I did not open the line so I didnt think i had to bleed it. Also, I did not clean the surface...it was such a pian not having a car i missed that step. Could someone clearify why its such a hassle to bleed these cars? what problems should i be looking for while doing so? How do i adjust the play in the pedal? (this is my first cable shift car lol)

i think u just answered ur own questiongo back and take ur tranny out and clean the clutch components of any grease

 

Adjust the clutch freeplay if the master cylinder has an adjustment... (the car has a hydraulic clutch)
