when the tach goes jumping around, the ignitor in your dizzy is failing. buy oem ignitors..theyre a bit pricey though

check your grounds...should read the same as battery terminals

Check the ground on the transmission side. I had a bad connection there, it caused my speedo and temp gauge to go crazy. It also burned out my main relay.

Normally this is an igniter issue. Since you did swap in an entirely new Dizzy, I would say you SHOULD be ok. For giggles, have you also checked plugs and wires?

I would check and then double check your ground on the thermostat housing, clean it and reinstall it.
