Default upgrade suspension?

i'm building my 98 dx to around 250whp and wouldn't mind better handling. This is a budget build, a daily driver, and i don't care about a slammed look, and don't really want my car that close to the ground. If its slightly lower than stock thats fine with me or the same idc. I will hardly ever go to a track. Cornering and handling is what i want on my DD. Sway bar and coilovers be good enough?

thanks

...Let me start by asking a question with a question:

What other suspension accouterments would you consider; other than a swaybar or coilovers??? (that pretty much covers it)

I'm confused.

Budget is a pretty useful piece of information. If your budget is $300 then we can't help you either way.

A rear swaybar at least, and a solid set of coilovers will be plenty. Progress CS-II 350/350 rates or Koni srt./ground control with 450/375 rates would be your best cheap options at around $600 each.

Next up is Koni/Ground control at around $800.

And that's, as far as I'm concerned, your only options under $1000.

I'm assuming any type of sway bar will work? I'll prolly go with the Progress CS-II. Are these something that float around the board used or will i just be better off buying new.

also, do you think these mods are worth the money? Will it be a big improvement over stock?
Thanks

Guessing your dx is a civic, for your sway bars just go with oem stock ex ones since this is a budget build.

Use an OE front sway bar from an EX/Si, there's no need to go larger in the front than that. If you want to save some money, just get an OE rear bar from an Si/GSR. Otherwise you're looking at atleast a couple hundred for a larger rear swaybar kit.

The Progress CS-II is a great coilover, and also one of the cheapest you can get while still having a top quality product. For what it's worth, I'd say you're much better off buying the set new. They go for $560 shipped on robearracing.com, cheapest I've seen for quite a while.

Yes these mods are worth the money. Stock suspension SUCKS. The coilovers alone will be a great improvement in performance(cornering, acceleration, braking, steering response). I'd get the coilovers before the swaybars. You may find that after installing the coilover, you won't want to spend more money on swaybars. Though if you have the money, sway bars will help.
