Default thinking of parting out my R

i was entertaining the thought of parting out my R. The reason being is the market is tough right now to sell an R, especially considering most banks do not give loans to 12 year old cars and most people dont have 10k+ to go and buy one out right. My car isnt perfect, but it is a clean title car with a pretty mint body and interior. I think it would be easier for me to strip the car and sell it piece by piece and get my 10g's worth. It seems like people are alot more willing to drop a couple grand at a time and i dont mind doing the work, not to mention i could keep what i wanted off of it.

what do you guys think of this idea? Is it a bad idea to part out a perfectly good itr?

it would be a bad idea if it were my ITR

but since it is yours, other ITR owners can benifit from the parts you are going to sell.

I am currently in need of some optional rear valences and would buy them from you if you had them.

just sayin, i wouldnt do it. i'm going to keep my itR forever!

LOL, my sides and rear are replicas but i"ll keep you in mind. I just dont drive the car at all really, just around the city and such. It's just a waste of a nice car, the itr community can benefit from it and i could use the money on my house or towards purchasing a new boat.....

but of course i would like to sell it outright if anyones interested for 10g's, and ill throw in all itr related parts i have, but this isnt the for sale thread so let me know if anyone wants it

Ya, i wanted the oem sides and rear but couldnt make myself spend 800+ on some used parts. Too bad your camper isnt a boat because we might have had a deal going. LOL

Have you tried to sell it? It's a limited production car, sell it whole IMO.

Bad idea. Why ruin a perfectly good ITR. Give it a good cleaning, fix anything that needs to be fixed and sell it. There are cars still selling for >15k out there, getting 10k for an ITR is very doable

That is a very sought after description. I'd sell it whole. Someone will appreciate it and you will get 10k.

I would sell it as a whole as well but I do see your point about people not being able to afford to throw 10k around. But that is a good price for a clean title R. Like my mom always said there is a a** for every seat. lol but either way good luck with whatever you decide to do... but FYI keep me in mind for the rolling shell ( I want a PY) lol

If it was me I wouldn't do it.

Understand where you are coming from but not sure I would want to deal with all the emails, pms, phone calls, meet ups, flakes, shipping and etc.

Sell it as a whole. Why part out a nice clean title car?

Please dont part out/sell your ITR to buy a boat. Boats are just holes in the water you throw money into. The two best days of boat ownership are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.

Honestly what makes you think you would use a boat more than your ITR? The ITR is at your house and you can drive it when ever, but you can't really keep a boat at your house unless your just so flush that you live on the water. Lol

If your set on getting rid of your ITR sell it as a whole, with people wrecking and stealing these things all the time they are becoming rarer and rarer.

If that was the case, he'd have no problem keeping the R

thanks for the comments guys. I actually did end up selling my car today. Ended up getting rid of it for 8g's with no spoiler, intake, wheels, ecu, and stereo equipment. It was kinda sad to see it go but it was fun and definitely the best honda Ive owned. I have a mugen gen one spoiler, mugen intake, tsw willows, hondata s300 for sale, got to get my 10 grand i was asking for. lol. hit me up.

Your in the itr market!! People these days don't want to waste $10k on a itr they rather buy some gsr with a jdm front end. I say don't part it and keep trying to sale her. It takes time for the RIGHT person to come along that is willing and truly appreciate what a R is. Parting out an R would be something hard for me to do, just so that I can make money off her?? I <3 MY itr too much to do something like that to her. Plus she is a clean title R and in the long run she'll be worth more!! GL

Sell it whole. Don't break down a perfectly good R for no reason. Somebody will appreciate what you have.
